Biodegradable bags can decomposed by bacteria and are a type of bag used to dispose of dog waste. Being biodegradeable does not mean that it is compostable, however. Few towns compost dog waste. And, biodegradeable products require oxygen to biodegrade and most trash is sealed up in landfills. The extra charge for biodegradeable bags may not make sense for most consumers for these reasons.
